Investing in Systems Strengthening, Advocacy, and Weaving
MAMA HOPE runs two (2) programs namely the Localization Development Accelerator (LDA) and Social Enterprise Impact Investment (SEII), which work towards providing systems strengthening, reducing donor dependency, and increasing networking opportunities to the beneficiary organizations.
Our desired outcomes include increased visibility, improved technical skills, organizational growth, self-reliance, increased trust and funding from donors; utilizing local knowledge and resources, scaling models, and easily advocate for change in the world in the long term.
The Localization Development Accelerator (LDA) Program
At MAMA HOPE, we recognize the critical need for a more coherent response to ‘Localization’ in the global development sector. We believe that local leaders and their community members possess an unparalleled understanding of cultural and community complexities, making them the most effective agents for addressing local challenges.
Why Localization Matters:
- Local leaders understand the issues affecting their communities best.
- Investing in grassroots organizations preserves natural resources and prioritizes resilient localized actions.
The LDA Approach:
Our approach to Localization involves accelerating community-led grassroots organizations through a four-year Localization Development Accelerator (LDA) Program. This program addresses the systems strengthening needs of grassroots organizations within the global development sector, aiming to scale successful locally designed and driven models.
